    La production d’expositions à l’international comme levier pour les artistes

    Molior est un organisme, fondé en 2001 par Andrée Duchaine, spécialisé dans la production d’expositions et de projets artistiques qui utilisent les technologies comme moyen de création, d’expression et d’action. Modèle unique au Canada, il produit des expositions à grande échelle avec des musées, des institutions culturelles et des diffuseurs étrangers. Molior a exposé au Canada, au Portugal, au Pérou et en France. Des collaborations se sont établies avec le Brésil dès 2004, puis avec la Chine en 2005. Il a organisé la participation canadienne à la Triennale internationale en arts des nouveaux médias du Musée national d’art de Chine (NAMOC) en 2008, 2011 et 2014. Molior a pour objectif de développer et de produire des évènements aux concepts forts qui mettent de l’avant et en relief l’expérience et le sens des œuvres afin d’agir en tant que levier pour le rayonnement international des artistes en arts numériques.

    Exploring the Production of International Exhibitions as a Lever for Artists

    Founded in 2001 by Andrée Duchaine, Molior is an organization that specializes in the production of exhibitions and art projects that use technologies as a means for creation, expression and action. This unique model in Canada produces large-scale exhibitions in partnership with museums, cultural institutions and international disseminators. Molior has exhibited in Canada, Portugal, Peru, and France. As of 2004 collaborations were established with Brazil and then China in 2005. It organized the Canadian participation in the International Triennial of New Media at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) in 2008, 2011 and 2014. Molior’s goal is to develop and produce concept-driven events that foster and foreground the experience and meaning of the works and to thereby act as a lever for the international visibility of artists in the digital arts.

    Aurélie Besson est co-directrice de Molior. Elle a assumé la coordination de deux expositions d’envergure internationale: Éveil en mars à São Paulo et la participation québécoise à la Triennale internationale en arts médiatiques de Pékin, en juin, au National Art Museum of China (NAMOC). Entre 2007 et 2010 elle a travaillé en tant que gestionnaire de projets et de programmation au Centre International en Art et Technologies (CIANT) de Prague, République Tchèque où elle a réalisé de nombreux projets européens collaboratifs, de recherche, de formations internationales (avec Stelarc, Louis Philippe Demers, Oliver Grau, Don Foresta, Louis Bec) et d’évènements (festival ENTER, conférences Mutamorphosis entre autres). Elle détient une maîtrise en communication et études des médias (Université Lumière Lyon 2; Universiteit Utrecht) et un Master en développement de projet et direction culturelle (Université Lumière Lyon 2). Elle est doctorante en Études et Pratiques des arts à l’UQAM. De 2014 à 2016, elle a présenté des chroniques à l’émission radio Montréal s’EXPOSe. Elle a travaillé sur des projets de recherche et de coordination de colloques à l’UQAM, ainsi qu’à Perte de Signal et Eastern Bloc où elle contribue actuellement au comité de programmation. À titre de commissaire, elle a été invitée à Show Off 2013, foire d’art numérique de Paris et prépare présentement un projet d’exposition international.

    Aurélie Besson is the co-director at Molior. She has coordinated two international exhibitions: Éveil, held in São Paolo last March, and Quebec's participation in the International Triennial of New Media Art, held in June at Beijing's National Art Museum of China (NAMOC). Between 2007 and 2010, she worked as a project and program manager at the International Centre for Art and New Technologies (CIANT) in Prague, Czech Republic. There, she carried out many collaborative European projects, research, international training programs (with Stelarc, Louis Philippe Demers, Oliver Grau, Don Foresta, Louis Bec), and events (including the ENTER festival and the Mutamorphosis conferences). She has a Masters in Communication and Media Studies (Université Lumière Lyon 2; Universiteit Utrecht) and a Masters in Cultural Development and Project Management (Université Lumière Lyon 2). She is currently a doctoral candidate in Artistic Studies and Practices at UQAM. From 2014 to 2016, she reported for the radio show Montréal s’EXPOSe. She has worked on research projects and coordinated colloquiums at UQAM, Perte de Signal and Eastern Bloc, where she currently serves on the programing committee. She was the guest curator for Show Off 2013, Paris' digital art fair, and is currently preparing an international exhibition.
