Aseman Sabet in residency in Lyon
Lyon
November 2nd to 16th, 2024
From November 2nd to 16th, Quebec curator Aseman Sabet will be in residency in Lyon (France), where she will be hosted by our partner the macLYON.
For two weeks, Aseman will visit artists’ studios, tour a selection of institutions, art centers and galleries in Lyon, and meet with a wide range of French arts professionals.
This residency is both a professional development project, a network relationship consolidation, a discovery of artistic approaches, and an opportunity to be inspired by creative activities from elsewhere in view of developing future exhibition projects.
Aseman Sabet works in the visual arts field as a curator, contemporary art history lecturer (Université du Québec à Montréal), writer, project manager, editor, and researcher. Over the past fifteen years, she has multiplied collaborations with contemporary art catalogues and magazines, with a focus on interdisciplinary issues in arts and science. She has also served as Director of Development for the Société des musées du Québec, and currently works on the implementation of the public art policy at Québec’s Ministry of Culture and Communications.
About the networking residencies
This initiative is part of an effort to share knowledge, develop networks and build lasting relationships between institutions with complementary mandates. Designed with collaboration and sharing in mind, the residences benefit all parties, including organizations in the same local community. This initiative is built with the expertise and involvement of many partners and aims to open markets and create international opportunities for Quebec and French communities.
This project is supported by the Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec and the Ministère de l’Europe et des Affaires étrangères de la République française, within the framework of the Commission permanente de coopération franco-québécoise (CPCFQ), and the Canada Council for the Arts.
